Ancient Crete culture
Long before the modern world, the island of Crete was the heartbeat of the Minoan civilization...
Cyprus' mountain villages are an absolute dream for anyone with a camera. It's about centuries-old walls, brilliant pink bougainvillea draping over old wooden doors and dramatic mountain valley views that demand to be captured. This experience is designed to transform you from a casual phone-snapper into a visual storyteller, all while experiencing the purest Cypriot hospitality.
The workshop day begins at 10:00 over a traditional Cypriot coffee to master your phone's hidden settings.
Then, your host, a visual artist and cinematographer, will teach some basic rules. You will learn about composition, how to handle harsh Mediterranean sunlight and how to capture incredible depth of field without expensive camera gear.
Get ready to test your skills in action! While exploring the local village, your guide will point out architectural textures, geometric shadows and rare details most tourists walk right past. Then, you will transition right into the surrounding nature, learning how to frame the wild Cypriot landscape, native flora and rolling hills using the exact same professional techniques. Around 12.00, you will enjoy a full, authentic meze lunch with slow-cooked meats, fresh halloumi, and local wine.
After lunch, feel free to ask any questions about editing techniques, your phone's hidden pro-settings or even the best hidden photo spots on the island while you enjoy a slow cup of traditional Cypriot coffee. Before departing the local village, you can visit the local craft centre to browse handmade treasures or purchase authentic artwork and souvenirs. This way, you can support sustainable community tourism in Cyprus while taking a piece of our island's living history right back home with you.
