Travel to Greece
Are you dreaming of your next getaway to the land of the gods? Most people think of Greece and immediately see white-washed..
At this Brew Course, you will experience a 5-hour intensive hands-on immersion into the world of craft beer. This workshop takes place in a professional brewery setting in Berlin, where you will be surrounded by authentic fermentation tanks and taps. Your experience includes a warming welcome drink, a full tasting of ten different beer styles on tap and a delicious lunch to keep your energy up. You will also receive a specialized homebrewing booklet so you can take your new skills home with you.
Are you ready to become a brewmaster? Berlin has been a brewing powerhouse since the Middle Ages, and today, you are not just here to drink the history; you are here to make it! This is a deep dive into the art and science of the perfect pour, where you will learn how simple raw ingredients are transformed into complex, delicious beer. Whether you want to start your own homebrew or just want to understand the "why" behind your favorite IPA, this is your chance to get your hands dirty in the best way possible.
No prior brewing experience is needed, but you should bring plenty of questions and a passion for flavor. It is recommended to wear comfortable clothing and shoes that you don't mind getting a little dusty, as we will be working with grain and hops in a real production environment.
Your journey begins with raw ingredients and recipe design, where you will learn how different ingredients influence flavor, aroma and beer style and how a recipe is built. Next, you will move into the milling and mashing process, learning how to convert starch into fermentable sugars with precise temperature control. During the lautering and boiling phase to separate wort from the grain and bring it to a boil, you will add hops at the perfect moments to balance bitterness and aroma. Also, you will be given an introduction to fermentation to understand how carbonation and alcohol are born and how different yeast strains affect the final character of the beer. Throughout the day, you will experience a guided tasting of ten different beers styles, brewing techniques and how production choices influence the final result in your glass.
By finishing the brew course, you will see every glass of beer with a completely new awareness and a sense of pride in the craft. Once the brewing is done, you can hang out with your fellow brewers, flip through your new homebrewing booklet or enjoy another round of your favorite style from the tap.
